Company History

J & S Rook Butchers is a family run business owned by Jerry Rook and his wife Sandra. Jerry has over 35 years experience as a high quality butcher and has discerning taste when it comes to selecting produce for the delicatessen.

Based in Holyport, Maidenhead, since 1991. The shop provides an extensive choice of high quality, high welfare meat sourced primarily from local farms and farms that are concerned about the welfare and care of their livestock within the UK.

The large range of products doesn't end at the meat counter we also offer a well stocked cheese counter with British and continental cheeses. There's also extensive cooked deli meats, pate, freshly cooked pies daily and a variety of olives.

Here at Rooks we also have twice weekly fruit and vegetable deliveries. On Thursday mornings you can survey the fresh fish bought in from Billingsgate Market, London.

Jerry Rook, Sandra Rook ,Marc and Jack Rook , as well as Peter Borcherds, his manager, are all involved with the running of this successful business. All members of staff have an extensive knowledge of butchery and can also advise on cooking times or recipes.

All the meat supplied to J & S Rook is of then highest standards.

Over the past 20 years we have strived to source only the best produce from farms of only the highest standards of welfare. We have a good relationship with our suppliers, most of which have been supplying our shop for many years.

The suppliers range from local farms in Winkfield, Berkshire to Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. There are also farms further a field from our suppliers of saltmarsh lamb in the Gower Valley in Wales to Scotch Beef from Aberdeenshire.

Service

We pride ourselves on an excellent service to all our customers. We are proud that we know the majority of our customers by first name and have built up a relationship with the local community.

We are more than happy to help in any way in which we can. We deliver daily to the local area. We can also take your bags to your car in needed.

We keep abreast of the current cooking trends and all enjoy cooking ourselves so we are more than happy to advise on cooking or preparation.

Variety

In sourcing produce locally and nationally we are able to provide a wide variety of products. We offer beef, lamb, pork, chicken, duck on a weekly basis.

Game and other seasonal products are always available when in season.
