We have a number of suppliers for our beef produce, however, we select only those that follow ethical husbandry and high standards of care for their cattle.
The quality of the beef is important to ensure that we provide our customers with produce that not only looks good but tastes great.
Sourced from top quality herds
Beef sold at J & S Rook is from top quality local and Scottish suppliers who pride themselves on the care of their livestock. We only buy beef on the bone. This is then hung in our fridges to mature for at least 28 days. This process tenderises the beef at the same time giving the meat a fuller deeper flavour.
We use various farms for our beef. This can vary from our local beef farmer in Winkfield amongst others in the local area. These are all slaughtered in an abattoir in Hampshire which conform to only the highest of standards.
We also have suppliers in Scotland which produce Aberdeen Angus Beef.
Where possible we buy award winning beef from various shows around the country. You may see these hanging in the shop from time to time. The show beef really is something special and well worth keeping an eye out for.
